Here’s a pic of the pond I built in the spare time I don’t have. The pond is situated for viewing from the dining room. I took the picture while standing next to the dining room table. Right next to the window framing the pond is an 80 gallon African Cichlid tank that reproduces the rocky biotype of Lake Malawi. The dining room will now have an entire wall of fish. A pond populated with comets on the left and a glass tank populated with mbuna on the right.
There is still work to do on the pond. Some plumbing and electrical lines need to be buried and the surrounding area needs to be replanted. The water is still full of silt that washed off from the stones, but that should clear in the next couple of days. Overall, I’m pleased with it. It looks spectacular at night. Four path lights ring the perimeter and an underwater spot shines up. The waterfall makes a pleasing burble that can be heard from the street.
