I’m currently driving from Dallas to Petaluma. I’m relocating to Northern California for awhile. I’ll be living in Petaluma, which is about forty miles north of San Francisco. It’s right next door to Napa and Sonoma. I’ll be able to hop on my bike and cruise through wine country. Very nice. It’s all about the bike, after all. Oh, and wine too.
At the moment I’m kicking back in Flagstaff Arizona. I made the mandatory trip to the Grand Canyon earlier today and did some hiking. Now I’m resting up in preparation for another long drive.
I’ll get back to work on WordPress this weekend and put out a commit digest. Although I’ve done nothing, Matt has been very busy this week. Now that we’re both in the Bay Area, we’ll be able to get together for some coding sprints and really bust a move on 1.6.
Is the relocation because of a new job?
I live over in sonoma county, and ive gotta say, i hope you like it over here. The mornings have been cold recently, but nothing you can’t live with.
I also enjoy biking the area, and with so many wineries, i can imagine you’ll enjoy it.
have a nice trip 🙂
Wow, good move! Petaluma is really nice. We should have a WP/NoCal Blogorama in Petaluma! But hurry, before rainy season starts. 🙂
P.S. Stop at Meteor Crater near Winslow if you haven’t passed it already. Very cool.
Congrats on the move Ryan. Is Petaluma a stepping stone for moving to SFO.
>Is Petaluma a stepping stone for moving to SFO?
ah, more like a step closer to the airort to fly to Melbourne Australia.

cheers on the move

NorCal: WP Center of Power. 😀
I’m doing the same job for the same boss, just in a different location. I’m moving for a change of scenery.
I have lived and worked for months at a time in both Sydney and Melbourne. Both are awesome cities. The trip will be a bit shorter now.
Petaluma isn’t a stepping stone for anywhere. I’m done with living in big cities for now. Time to kick back in a smaller town.
I thought about swinging by Meteor Crater, but I was too tired and drove right past it so that I could get to the hotel and collapse on the bed.
Thanks all.
Petaluma is a great town. I’m from Marin County over in Mill Valley and I love the area. Have a safe trip!
