Bathroom Remodel

Here’s our guest bathroom as it looked when the previous owners still lived in it. Ducks!

And here it is after removing that huge plate glass mirror, replacing that huge eight bulb hollywood/broadway strip light,  stripping three layers of wallpaper, patching and texturing the walls with a grasscloth texture, painting everyting, and installing a soapstone tile counter, vessel sink, single hole faucet, and new accessories.

We did all of the work ourselves and selected fairly cheap, off-the-shelf parts to keep costs down. It’s certainly an improvement over basket weave wallpaper with a duck border and an old laminate counter top.

  1. I don’t really see the improvement. E.g. why did you put the faucet on the right? It looks all that cornered in there..

    1. The plumbing comes in through the wall on the right and the cabinet is setup for right-hand plumbing. I’d have to reroute plumbing and get a new cabinet to center the sink. That wasn’t in the budget.
